Love Series finals this weekend!!!!!

This weekend August 3rd and 4th there is a huge bmx event going on in Manteca at Spreckels Park bmx. The NorCal love series is a fund raising event in Northern California that was started to raise money for The Lucile Packard Children's to continue research for Childhood cancers. The inspiration for it all came about when one of our local riders Luke O'Moore was diagnosed with Leukemia. Luke is currently putting up a good fight and has inspired many people thru his untraditional methods of recovery.Against his doctors orders Luke has continued to BMX,ride scooters, and just be a normal kid through out the process. Last year we raised $10,000 dollars for his Charity Lukes Lemons, and all of it went directly to the hospital. We have raised $8,000 so far this year with the series and are looking to add a nice chunk to that with the finals. But the Love Series isnt just about raising money, its also about coming together as a community for a great cause and throwing down some of the best Pro and amateur racing in the country. We will Have a huge pro-am and Mini-am event following the Love series race.Mini-ams are like pro-ams for kids but instead of racing for money the kids race for prizes from some of their favorite companies. As well as prizes from Tangent,LDC,X-Brand,Phoenix pro scooters,Snap,Clif Bar,Revolution racing and Fly racing, the winner will recieve a sweet custom champions jersey from Nema. There are no proficiencies in the Mini-ams and will be broken down into the following age groups: 7 and under. 8-10 11-13 14-15 And a girls class. Entry fee for the love series charity race is $15 and is single points.$10 from each entry fee goes to the charity and $5 goes into the pro-am pot for a big payout.Entry fee for the mini ams are $10 with all proceeds going to the charity.Pro-am entry is $20 with all entry fees going back into the pro payout. Also there will be an old school show going on through out the day.On sunday There will also be a pro am and overnight camping is welcomed.Signups for Saturdays race are 10-12 with racing to follow.Hope to see some of you there. There is also a NoBS 35+ open going down as well and you know how that goes.

Thursday on tour with ROYNUTS

Well well well.... What can you say aboutSouthern  California and the BMX scene down there? This will just be a quick recap from today as the pictures, videos and stories will show the amazing adventure these riders took part in.
I guess Epic is the word that comes to mind.
Morning started of early as doughnuts and Pepsi sustained me till we got lost ..... and to Greg Hills house. Had to stop at Fullerton bike shop for a tube and to check out what all the hype is about ! Cool shop !!
Driving thru LA is kinda crazy and I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere other than inside the van with a bunch if stinky Bmxers looking for a legends home !
We finally found it and rode the GHP pump track for all it's worth. Took a tour of the GHP camp program, did gates and even talked a little trash. had a great conversation with Hill-age about who the greatest Bmxer of all time is... Out views differ but the passion is the same ....
The interview went well. We learned a lot about Greg and are looking forward to doing a more indept story on this legend.
His story has to be told, we will all learn a bit about Greg and ourselves.
Some of us headed to Bellflower and some of us headed to the Avalanche's training program at Sycamore in Simi Valley..... Good track, times and great program. He's been at it for 16 yrs and has a huge following. Kids learned a lot and rode a rad track so we are stoked !!
Headed to our next stop .... The journey continues ....

What a day.

Today was epic. I got to meet a childhood hero of mine Chris Moeller and it was awesome. S&M is one of my all time favorite companies and seeing the shop first hand was a dream come true for me. They were hard at work hand crafting the finest bmx components in the world and we got to see it all.
After that we went back to Sheep hills and everyone stepped it up today hitting more then yesterday. Shark boy was a beast at the trail and I over heard locals talking about him and he earned respect.
We finished off our day with a quick Orange Y BMX. Al caught up with BMX legend Todd Lyons for an interview and our NorCal boys shredded another SoCal Track.
Tomorrow we see yet another legend...... Greg Hill.

And the tour continues.

Yesterday was long and didn't get a chance to update but it was epic fun. We took some down time Before sheep hills and hit the beach. The scene was incredible and the tour members had a blast.
After the beach we headed straight to Sheep Hills for an evening session. Even the according to the locals it wasn't in the best shape, it was a killer sesh.Kenny looked like he was having fun riding for thus first time in a while and for me that made it all worth while. We are about to head into S&M so I will get back to you all later.

Chillin in Ontario.

We left Vegas around 11:30 and drove to the Supercross warehouse. It was really cool to check out and Jeremy,Dani and Bill were top notch hosts and treated us great. All though it was to windy to ride, it was cool to see  the playground first hand.
Back on the road he headed straight to Mike Redman grand pri bmx aka Lake Perris. They just did a rebuild and its dope. Everyone riding had a great time and the bridge is dope. You really should check it out. It had a great vibe and the caliber of Riders was killer. Sizemore,Nobles, Stancil,Mitchells to name a few and a bunch of out of owners including Ensey and Banuelos made for a cool filming session.
Now we are just chilling in Ontario down the street from the Riots. Ttyl.

Pool time in Vegas.

Racing in Vegas is done and the best way to unwind at the South Point hotel and Casino is a little Schmick juice and some time at the pool. Monday is the official start of the tour and my mission is to show these kids a good time. Ttyl.

Day one of the Vegas Nationals.

Day one of the USA bmx national in Las Vegas,Nevada are underway. There is around 370 motos and plenty of fast riders in the house. Add that too the limited space and small track and it will get exciting. I will post again later. You can watch all the action live online. Check out the USA bmx Facebook page for the link.

Tours starting soon...

It's kind of funny the way things come about in my life. I had never intended on A tour, it just sort of snowballed off an original Message I sent to Erick from Ventura/Nema.
I had told him that I would love to come to Ventura bmx and film, and he suggested we come out for the state race. Being that it was a week after Vegas it made sense to me to hit it on the way home.  It's not really on my way, but if I tried really hard to take the long way home, I could hit a bunch cool stuff along the way.
I've always thought it looked cool when you would see the Old school tour clips in videos and that kind of vibe is something I want to help share with the people on our trip.

BMX for us has gotten so routine and I wanted a different experience for our family and this is what I came up with. Should be interesting.

So check back here over the next couple of weeks for exclusive tour content and behind the scenes shanigans. We are filming all of this for a little tour vid by the way so if your in SoCal we may see you at a track.
