SoCal dvd.

Well its almost done. It's been almost 2 months since we set out on our tour and I'm almost done with the DVD. It was a great learning experience as I've never done this before. I tried to showcase what I thought was cool about our trip and show everyone what they could do down south. This doesn't even really touch what you could as a bmxer in Southern California, but just shows what we as a group of friends and family experienced. I had some camera trouble early on and lost a lot of footage, but I was lucky enough to get some cool stuff. Thanks to everyone that helped make it possible. And thanks to Greg Hill, Mike Redman, Bill Ryan, and Chris Moeller for great interviews that will interest any bmx enthusiast. We are also fortunate to have interviews from Kyle Mitchell, Bj Ensey, Josh Banuellos, Talon Redman, Dani George, Jeremy Rommel and Dave Stevenson.
We also really appreciate the hospitality from all the tracks and riding spots. We were treated like locals and it was awesome. So check out the DVD and thanks for the support.

2013 BlackJack nationals.

Hows it? Ive been super busy editing the tour video and havent posted on here in a while. But this weekend was the 2013 BlackJack nationals and western division championship in Reno, Nevada. It was another well Run event put on by USA bmx and it was also alot of fun hanging out with the team and friends.Woke up sunday morning feeling awesome, Kenny had a 85 point lead going into the race for the Western Division title in 14 Cruiser and he was riding great.
But when the Quarters came around, he hit a little bad luck and got tangled up with Austin Rogers going into the first turn. Unfortunatley it ended his day and run at the title. We rushed to the hospital to confirm he had a broken collar bone.

Love series history.

Its been brought to my attention that there are some people that werent around when everything started with the love series..So heres a quick history lesson. The love series was started when Luke O'moores dad approached me at Santa Clara pal and asked if i could take some pictures of his son.He explained to me that Luke had just been approved by his doctor to start riding again. He had been diagnosed with leukemia earlier in the year and hadnt been able to ride since he started treatment.I took the pictures, but didnt know how to reach Fergal to send them to him. The next week i contacted Misty Castro and and told her i wanted to find out who the boy was and get together a bmx gift bag for him.I still didnt know who he was and Kelly Molles had found a picture of him associated with the Lucile Packard foundation.I called the Packard foundation and told them about the situation and could they please have the Parents contact me.We rallied together as a community and not only found Luke, got him some cool bmx gifts but with the Help of team Napa Valley Crush and Supercross we built him a new bike. We could have left it at that, but when we all heard that Luke had a charity that he started with His Brother Cian that gives back to Lucile Packard, the Love series was born.We raised money thru a series of BMX races and gave all the money to Lukes Lemons which they donated to the hospital to keep working towards a cure for childhood cancer. The first Year we raised over $10,000.This year we have raised over $8,000 with our biggest race coming up this weekend. Not only will we raise money we will also be hosting the premier bmx event of the year. This isnt about chasing points and fighting at the track. This is about coming together,Racing, and doing some good at the same time. The Pro-am will be one of the Biggest pro races on the westcoast this year with riders coming from NorCal,SoCal,Nevada,Arizona and Oregon. We will also be having Pro-ams for kids called Mini-ams with incredible prizes from some of the top companies in the sport.Along with and old school bike show that you wont want to miss.We will also be raffling Off a complete Redline Flight of your choice brought to you by Team Redline Challenge. So if you love bmx and hate cancer, make sure you are in Manteca this weekend.Signups for the race are from 10-12 with racing starting soon after.Entry fee for the Lukes lemons race is $15 with $10 going towards cancer research and $5 going to the Pro-am pot.Entry to the Pro-am is $20 with 100% of that going into the Pro Payout. The Entry Fee for the Mini-ams is $10 with all entry fees also going to the charity. If you are an amateur Racing in either the Pro-am or mini am, you must also sign Up for the Lukes Lemons race for insurance reasons. Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters and we hope to see you all saturday in manteca.

Love Series finals this weekend!!!!!

This weekend August 3rd and 4th there is a huge bmx event going on in Manteca at Spreckels Park bmx. The NorCal love series is a fund raising event in Northern California that was started to raise money for The Lucile Packard Children's to continue research for Childhood cancers. The inspiration for it all came about when one of our local riders Luke O'Moore was diagnosed with Leukemia. Luke is currently putting up a good fight and has inspired many people thru his untraditional methods of recovery.Against his doctors orders Luke has continued to BMX,ride scooters, and just be a normal kid through out the process. Last year we raised $10,000 dollars for his Charity Lukes Lemons, and all of it went directly to the hospital. We have raised $8,000 so far this year with the series and are looking to add a nice chunk to that with the finals. But the Love Series isnt just about raising money, its also about coming together as a community for a great cause and throwing down some of the best Pro and amateur racing in the country. We will Have a huge pro-am and Mini-am event following the Love series race.Mini-ams are like pro-ams for kids but instead of racing for money the kids race for prizes from some of their favorite companies. As well as prizes from Tangent,LDC,X-Brand,Phoenix pro scooters,Snap,Clif Bar,Revolution racing and Fly racing, the winner will recieve a sweet custom champions jersey from Nema. There are no proficiencies in the Mini-ams and will be broken down into the following age groups: 7 and under. 8-10 11-13 14-15 And a girls class. Entry fee for the love series charity race is $15 and is single points.$10 from each entry fee goes to the charity and $5 goes into the pro-am pot for a big payout.Entry fee for the mini ams are $10 with all proceeds going to the charity.Pro-am entry is $20 with all entry fees going back into the pro payout. Also there will be an old school show going on through out the day.On sunday There will also be a pro am and overnight camping is welcomed.Signups for Saturdays race are 10-12 with racing to follow.Hope to see some of you there. There is also a NoBS 35+ open going down as well and you know how that goes.

Thursday on tour with ROYNUTS

Well well well.... What can you say aboutSouthern  California and the BMX scene down there? This will just be a quick recap from today as the pictures, videos and stories will show the amazing adventure these riders took part in.
I guess Epic is the word that comes to mind.
Morning started of early as doughnuts and Pepsi sustained me till we got lost ..... and to Greg Hills house. Had to stop at Fullerton bike shop for a tube and to check out what all the hype is about ! Cool shop !!
Driving thru LA is kinda crazy and I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere other than inside the van with a bunch if stinky Bmxers looking for a legends home !
We finally found it and rode the GHP pump track for all it's worth. Took a tour of the GHP camp program, did gates and even talked a little trash. had a great conversation with Hill-age about who the greatest Bmxer of all time is... Out views differ but the passion is the same ....
The interview went well. We learned a lot about Greg and are looking forward to doing a more indept story on this legend.
His story has to be told, we will all learn a bit about Greg and ourselves.
Some of us headed to Bellflower and some of us headed to the Avalanche's training program at Sycamore in Simi Valley..... Good track, times and great program. He's been at it for 16 yrs and has a huge following. Kids learned a lot and rode a rad track so we are stoked !!
Headed to our next stop .... The journey continues ....

What a day.

Today was epic. I got to meet a childhood hero of mine Chris Moeller and it was awesome. S&M is one of my all time favorite companies and seeing the shop first hand was a dream come true for me. They were hard at work hand crafting the finest bmx components in the world and we got to see it all.
After that we went back to Sheep hills and everyone stepped it up today hitting more then yesterday. Shark boy was a beast at the trail and I over heard locals talking about him and he earned respect.
We finished off our day with a quick Orange Y BMX. Al caught up with BMX legend Todd Lyons for an interview and our NorCal boys shredded another SoCal Track.
Tomorrow we see yet another legend...... Greg Hill.

And the tour continues.

Yesterday was long and didn't get a chance to update but it was epic fun. We took some down time Before sheep hills and hit the beach. The scene was incredible and the tour members had a blast.
After the beach we headed straight to Sheep Hills for an evening session. Even the according to the locals it wasn't in the best shape, it was a killer sesh.Kenny looked like he was having fun riding for thus first time in a while and for me that made it all worth while. We are about to head into S&M so I will get back to you all later.

Chillin in Ontario.

We left Vegas around 11:30 and drove to the Supercross warehouse. It was really cool to check out and Jeremy,Dani and Bill were top notch hosts and treated us great. All though it was to windy to ride, it was cool to see  the playground first hand.
Back on the road he headed straight to Mike Redman grand pri bmx aka Lake Perris. They just did a rebuild and its dope. Everyone riding had a great time and the bridge is dope. You really should check it out. It had a great vibe and the caliber of Riders was killer. Sizemore,Nobles, Stancil,Mitchells to name a few and a bunch of out of owners including Ensey and Banuelos made for a cool filming session.
Now we are just chilling in Ontario down the street from the Riots. Ttyl.

Pool time in Vegas.

Racing in Vegas is done and the best way to unwind at the South Point hotel and Casino is a little Schmick juice and some time at the pool. Monday is the official start of the tour and my mission is to show these kids a good time. Ttyl.

Day one of the Vegas Nationals.

Day one of the USA bmx national in Las Vegas,Nevada are underway. There is around 370 motos and plenty of fast riders in the house. Add that too the limited space and small track and it will get exciting. I will post again later. You can watch all the action live online. Check out the USA bmx Facebook page for the link.

Day one of the 2013 summer tour

Kenny and Anthony went on a double date with some chicks, Zach raced and we went to Dennys. Everyone's back in the room ready for some much needed sleep. Good night everyone and talk to you tomorrow.

Tours starting soon...

It's kind of funny the way things come about in my life. I had never intended on A tour, it just sort of snowballed off an original Message I sent to Erick from Ventura/Nema.
I had told him that I would love to come to Ventura bmx and film, and he suggested we come out for the state race. Being that it was a week after Vegas it made sense to me to hit it on the way home.  It's not really on my way, but if I tried really hard to take the long way home, I could hit a bunch cool stuff along the way.
I've always thought it looked cool when you would see the Old school tour clips in videos and that kind of vibe is something I want to help share with the people on our trip.

BMX for us has gotten so routine and I wanted a different experience for our family and this is what I came up with. Should be interesting.
So check back here over the next couple of weeks for exclusive tour content and behind the scenes shanigans. We are filming all of this for a little tour vid by the way so if your in SoCal we may see you at a track.

California Documentary and SoCal tour.

I've kind of been laying low on the bmx stuff the last few weeks and trying figure how to proceed with it. I feel like I'm sort of burnt out on it all and needed a change. So I decided I just want to make a documentary.
I have footage saved from a lot of tracks in California and plan on doing a few tours with some friends to gather more. Our first tour is going to Begin in Vegas after the National next month. All of this is subject to change, but the tour so far is looking like this:

July 15-Stop by Supercross and hopefully film with the crew there.
Then hit Lake Perris bmx.

July 16-Stop by Greg Hills house and hopefully interview the Legend and Mabye get some gate tips. Then hit Sycamore bmx.

July 17-Tour Oakley and hopefully film at the track. Orange Y bmx in the evening.

July 18-Beach followed by Bellflower bmx.

July 19- Water park and Nema tour. Haven't figured out which track to hit.

July 20-Ventura bmx for their state race.

Still working out all the details, this is a rough draft. But you see what I'm getting at.

New race league coming soon

At least a solid hopefuly. I'm going to try to start a pro-am and
mini-am league.
I want it to be by age group and that's it. Boys classes, Girl Classes with cool prizes and awards and Pro-ams.
No Nov,inter, or opens. Race what ever size bike you want.
I really want to make it a legit pro-am league as well and find ways to make it worth setting a goal to be a pro bmxer.
  More details to come.
